Growing a Deeper Faith as a Young Adult
Boulder, United States – January 19, 2026 / Boulder Valley Christian Church /
Young adulthood is a season filled with possibility. It is a time when faith becomes more personal, beliefs are owned rather than assumed, and questions often come with a real desire to grow. At Boulder Valley Christian Church, this season is not treated as something to rush through or figure out alone. Instead, it is seen as a meaningful opportunity to deepen faith, build authentic relationships, and learn how to connect with God in everyday life.
Spiritual growth does not happen in isolation. Faith is shaped through shared experiences, honest conversations, and time spent studying the Bible together. For young adults especially, this combination of community and formation creates space for a faith that is both grounded and growing.
Why Young Adulthood Is a Meaningful Season for Faith
Young adulthood brings new routines, responsibilities, and independence as many are navigating college, careers, relationships, and challenging life decisions, often all at once. In the middle of that change, there is a natural desire for something steady and life-giving. For many, this becomes a season where faith moves from something familiar to something deeply personal.
At Boulder Valley, this stage of life is approached with care and purpose. Rather than focusing on fear or uncertainty, young adults are encouraged to seek growth, discovery, and spiritual depth by asking questions, engaging Scripture, and exploring what it looks like to become more like Jesus in real and practical ways. This approach reflects the belief that faith grows best when it is nurtured with patience, honesty, and community.
A Place to Belong and Grow
The Heart Behind Cana
Cana is Boulder Valley’s young adult community, created for those navigating early adulthood and seeking meaningful connection. Named after the place of Jesus’ first miracle, Cana reflects the belief that transformation, joy, and community often happen when people gather together. It is not built around performance or perfection but around shared life and growing faith.
Within Cana, young adults find space to connect with God and with one another. The emphasis is on authentic relationships, spiritual formation, and learning how faith fits into everyday life. Through gatherings, conversations, and shared experiences, Cana offers a place where young adults can grow without pressure and belong without pretense.
Faith Deepens Best in Community
Boulder Valley holds to the conviction that transformation happens best in circles, not rows. For young adults, this means faith is not just learned from a distance but formed through relationship. Reading the Word together, asking questions, and sharing perspectives create an environment where faith becomes active and lived rather than theoretical.
Community provides encouragement, accountability, and shared wisdom. It allows young adults to see how Scripture applies to real situations and everyday decisions. This kind of formation is central to Boulder Valley’s vision for young adult faith and is woven into everything from Life Groups to courses designed to help people grow.
Learning to Read the Bible With Understanding
A Starting Point for Scripture
For many people, reading the Bible can feel intimidating or confusing. Questions about where to start, how to understand context, or how Scripture applies to modern life are common. Learning to study the Word is an important step in deepening faith and understanding who God is.
The How to Read the Bible – Life Group Starter is a six-week course designed to help people meet God and grow like Him through Scripture. Open to anyone looking to join a Life Group, it offers a supportive place to learn how to approach the Bible with greater clarity and confidence. Rather than focusing solely on information, the course invites participants to build a relationship with God and learn how to read and apply the Bible in practical ways.
What the Evenings Look Like
Each gathering is designed to feel simple and relational from start to finish. Evenings begin with a shared dinner, creating space for connection and conversation before the teaching. This time around the table reflects a commitment to community and the belief that relationships grow naturally when people slow down and share life together.
There will also be a thought-provoking video designed to guide understanding and spark meaningful conversation. The teaching is accessible and grounded, helping participants learn how to approach the Bible with confidence and curiosity. Time is then set aside for meaningful discussion, where people can process what they are learning, ask questions, and hear from others walking a similar journey.
This will take place on Thursdays from January 29 through March 12, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, in the Roots Room at Boulder Valley Christian Church. CLICK HERE to register.
Please note that childcare will not be available.
Scripture as a Path to Spiritual Growth
Becoming More Like Jesus
At Boulder Valley, discipleship is defined as becoming more like Jesus. Reading the Bible plays a central role in that process. Scripture reveals God’s character, shapes perspective, and invites transformation over time. Learning how to study the Bible consistently helps young adults develop a faith that is rooted and resilient.
The How to Read the Bible – Life Group Starter provides tools and guidance that support long-term spiritual growth. It is not just about completing a six-week course but about forming habits that carry into everyday life. As participants grow in confidence and understanding, Scripture becomes a place of connection rather than confusion.
Taking the Next Step in Faith
Everyone’s faith journey looks different, but no one has to walk it alone. For young adults, finding the right next step can make all the difference. Whether that step is joining Cana, participating in a Life Group, or learning how to read the Bible with greater clarity, Boulder Valley is committed to creating spaces where growth feels possible and supported.
The How to Read the Bible – Life Group Starter serves as both an introduction to Scripture and an invitation into deeper community, helping people connect to God, commit to community, and choose to contribute in meaningful ways.
If you are in a season of wanting to grow deeper in your faith and connect with others along the way, Boulder Valley offers a place to start. Whether through Cana, a Life Group, or the How to Read the Bible course, there is space here to learn, ask questions, and grow in community.
